Services
Keith Vandenbussche, Director of Facility Services

Achieve cost savings while strengthening customer operations and improving performance: That's the mission of Barton Malow Facility Services, now established for 20 years.

What We Do

We are a single-source, full-spectrum provider for facility maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO); service management; facility systems engineering; and administration. The key is flexibility: comprehensive facility management and care, under the hands-on direction of experienced building planners and managers It's one smooth operation: design, build, install, manage, and (as necessary) decommission.

Combining CM and FM

We are backed by a full-service design and building firm. As such, many clients choose to integrate construction management and facility management, having us oversee construction projects and integrate them with ongoing facility operations. This cuts overall client costs and accelerates schedules.

Tailored to Individual
Client Needs

With his staff, Facility Services Director Keith Vandenbussche, FMA, a 20-year specialist in this discipline

  • Develops service requirements and objectives for each engagement
  • Establishes procedures, work scopes, and budgets
  • Locates cost reduction opportunities, and
  • Defines performance standards for facility operations.

Keith has earned FMA – Facilities Management Administrator – certification from the Building Owners & Managers Institute (BOMI) International. This reflects his formal, professional training and commitment to ongoing education, both for himself and his staff.

All-Inclusive Management

In other words, Facility Management Services is far broader than construction management. It encompasses

  • Long-term planning: Facility evaluations, master planning
  • Project Implementation: Planning, administration, design, engineering, specifications, scheduling, trade hiring and coordination, quality and cost control
  • Maintenance: Preventive and operational maintenance of all building systems, facility performance analysis, energy conservation

We'll see to all facility and project needs, from procurement, staffing, computer system planning and setup, to mobile equipment, structural concerns, and site maintenance (landscaping, site lighting, snow removal). We'll take care of housekeeping, mail, shipping and receiving, reception, and moving arrangements. And, of course, Barton Malow's recognized safety and security program is a key part of our offering.

Access to Leading-Edge Practices and People

And – without any expensive investment – clients have priority access to all the resources of our parent company: the latest equipment, technology, advanced design and construction methods, and industry specialists. We can (for example) design and set up a custom audiovisual system, provide the cost- and time-saving benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM), build green under the guidance of our LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals, or call in our riggers to move equipment.

Client Benefits

Excellent relationships with trades and vendors, which promotes competitive pricing and owner loyalty

  • One-stop shopping / single-source accountability, which streamlines both day-to-day and long-term facility needs
  • Dual emphasis on quality and cost control
  • Individualized programs for each client / each facility / each project

In short, our Lean management systems promote efficiency and cost savings, our company provides comprehensive resources, and our Facility Services staff ensure close attention to client needs.

Additionally, Clients who choose to integrate construction management and facility management reduce overlap and costs, and are faster to market – a competitive advantage.
